B.S., Cornell University Ph.D., University of Alberta Professional Interests: My research background is primarily in genetics, meiosis, and DNA repair with a brief detour into the world of sensory neurobiology at the level of microanatomy. However, for or the last 15 years, I have been an instructor and lecturer in the Biological Sciences Department, and my job consists of teaching, advising, and curricular development. I teach in the introductory biology series, both lecture and laboratory, direct a seminar course for students just starting their study of biology, and teach laboratory genetics. I chair the biology curriculum committee, where decisions are made about individual student needs as well as broader issues of curriculum design.
